Chinese rice-noodle soup

Largeish packet of chinese rice-noodles
1 tsp garlic
1 splash soy sauce
1 chicken stock cube
Lot of other bits, finely chopped. Suggestions include:
Cold hard-boiled egg
Boil the noodles - they will expand, but do over-estimate quantities if possible - you will find that you can eat them all :-)
Mix soy, garlic and stock cube in a cup of boiling water.
Put noodles in big bowls, put chopped ingredients on top. It's nice to have all the ingredients out so that people can choose their own.
Pour stock over everything and then top up with more boiling water.
Wear old clothes! Even your feet will not be safe from splashes.
