Summary of Qualifications

Amanda Penrose - Best Website AwardMy web design and management skills encompass the entire life of a web site, from planning and design, through implementation, to ongoing maintenance.

My web management skills include extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS, as well as some JavaScript, Perl and ASP.

I have been designing professionally since 1995. I am skilled in the use of a wide variety of graphics programs including Photoshop and Painter, vector programs such as Freehand and Illustrator, and animation programs such as Flash and Director.

My communication skills include: liaising with clients; writing proposals, manuals and other documentation; proof-reading; and training clients and fellow staff members.

I am equally comfortable in both PC and Macintosh environments and I am as happy to work with proprietary software such as Microsoft Office as with open source alternatives such as Open Office.

I understand the importance of the accessibility and usability of web sites and I am well versed in the standards of the W3C, as well as being able to adapt to a client's own standards.
